Geometric bliss

Proving that geometrics don't have to be harsh and minimalist, this month's style tip is about how to introduce modern geometrics into your home with a soft edge. Think bold zig zags and cubes in earthy tones.

Sanderson - 'Zig Zag'

Barker and Barker - 'Nancy'

For a subtle take on this season's geometric trend, why not try a feature wall of Sanderson's Zig Zag. This energetic design has enough colour to make an impact, but still incorporates neutral tones which can be carried on throughout the room to avoid overpowering the space. Or, to create a statement piece of furniture, try a feature chair in Barker and Barker's Nancy. The bold cube shapes will add a minimalist feel, without having to hide away your treasured objects! To really make the most of this theme, try mixing and matching geometric prints and weaves in coordinating tones, to create a fun environment. Keep the furniture sleek and simple to draw attention to the statement patterns.

or...

Personalise it!

Add photos of your family and holidays in multi-frames to compliment the cubist feel. Try adding a large mirror to make the room feel bigger and to create new dimensions to those geometric prints.

Experiment with:
  • Rugs and throws to add a softer, comforting element to the room
  • Creating your own modern patchwork cushions from fabric scraps to mirror the shapes in the feature designs
