Brushstrokes

This month's style tip introduces some fresh florals to brighten up your home for spring. Think painterly brushstrokes and delicate meadows with a palette of lush greens and pretty pinks.

Sanderson - 'Poppies'

Harlequin - 'Floris'

For a simple and fresh look, try papering a feature wall, or the alcoves of your living room, in Sanderson's 'Poppies' from the new collection, Colour For Living. For a more traditional style, Harlequin's 'Floris' will add colour and life, without being fussy. To make the most out of the beautifully hand painted foral designs, try adding ombre cushions in accent colours to avoid harsh blocks of colour. Light wood or white painted furniture will keep the room light and airy whilst allowing the bold colours to pop. (All of the above fabric is available from Sasha Interiors, Hereford.)

or...

Personalise it!

Frame your children's paintings to add to the handmade and original feel of the wallpaper. Or, for a more sophisticated look, bring the outside in with lush green pot plants and rustic seed heads.

Experiment with:
  • Sheer fabrics - to allow natural light to flood in and keep the look soft
  • Piping cord in key colours - to liven up plain fabrics, keeping costs down
